How to Play the Game Penny Drop
Posted by PHIL JANELLE
Penny Drop Rules:
Penny Drop is an incredibly fun and addictive family game which can be enjoyed by all ages. The rules are simple and the game play is incredibly fun.
It is perfect to play with the family or with friends over a couple of drinks. (You can always raise the stakes with side bets if you want to make things more interesting)
Purchase Penny Drop for yourself or as a gift here!
For the curious how the game is played please see below for the rules of Penny Drop.
For 2 or more players
EACH PLAYER NEEDS 12 Pennies : note - you can use 10 pennies if you want to make a faster game
THE OBJECT OF THE GAME IS TO BE THE FIRST TO GET RID OF ALL OF YOUR PENNIES
1. Determine who goes first by each player rolling the single dice cube. Highest # goes first; then play proceeds in a clockwise direction.
2. Player rolls the die and must put a penny in the game board slot corresponding to the number shown on the die.
3. If the player rolls a number that already has a penny in it, they must take all of the pennies showing on the board and then the turn goes to the next player
4. A player must take at least one roll, but can take as many rolls as they want until they get stuck as in rule #3.
5. Hole number 6 lets the penny go inside the box so you can roll as many as 6’s as possible without penalty
6. Play continues until a player runs out of pennies and is declared the winner. The pennies are redistributed to start the next game.
7. A fun way to wager on the game would be for each player to put a quarter or a sum of money inside the box prior to the game starting. The winner would then be awarded that money.
If plan on giving Penny Drop as a gift please contact me about having a name or message laser engraved on the box via Email or the friendly neighborhood Chat Bot in the bottom right corner.

Why is red on the one dot?

Hey Stacey,
If you drop your last penny in slot 1-5 then you are the winner! The goal is the first person to be rid of their pennies. It does not matter if it is by dropping them in the game box or by passing it on to someone else.

Hi, we were wondering if your last penny gets put on slot 1-5 but it not dropped into #6, does that mean you got rid of it and won? Or does that person not win until that penny is taken by someone else?

Hey Anita,
I am so glad to hear you and your family are enjoying Penny Drop! The red one dot does not have any special significance. IT just adds a bit of visual flair to them.

I just got this for my grandkids to play at my house and they love it! Very easy for all to learn. We were wondering if there is a special reason that the #1 on the die is red? Thanks!
